Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross‘ scores for the films Mank and Soul made the shortlist to be nominated for this year’s Best Original Score Oscar.

A total of 136 film scores were eligible, 15 of which were selected for the shortlist. The final nominees will be announced on March 15 ahead of the 2021 Oscar ceremony, airing April 25 on ABC.

Soul, the Disney/Pixar animated film, also includes original music by The Late Show bandleader Jon Batiste. He would also be nominated alongside the Nine Inch Nails duo should Soul make the final cut.

The scores for Mank and Soul are also nominated for the Golden Globes’ Best Original Score award.

Reznor and Ross previously won an Oscar for their score of The Social Network. They’ve also won a Grammy and an Emmy for their scoring work, making them only a Tony shy of an EGOT title.
