The vampire community is now involved in the Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox blood-drinking saga.

After the Transformers actor confirmed that she and her “Emo Girl” rocker fiancé drank each other’s blood for “ritual purposes only” — “It’s just a few drops,” Fox told Glamour UKTMZ reached out to Belfazaar Ashantison, the co-founder of the New Orleans Vampire Association, who shared some advice for the blood-consuming couple.

Mainly, Ashantison preaches safety and “testing for potential diseases and blood-borne illnesses.”

“Ashantison says most vampires do extensive research on their blood donors before using even the slightest drop,” TMZ reports. “He says it took him six months to get to know his blood donor and feel comfortable drinking their blood, and they still get tested every three months just to be sure.”

TMZ also spoke with Father Sebastiaan, founder of Endless Night Vampire Ball, who shares that “blood withdrawal should only be done through medical professionals.”

Overall, though, both vampire representatives conclude that “If done safely, [blood-drinking is] kosher for consenting adults,” as TMZ puts it.

Kelly and Fox got engaged this past January. It was in Fox’s Instagram post announcing the news that she first claimed she and MGK had consumed each other’s blood.
