Weezer has premiered a new song called “I Want a Dog,” the first single off the band’s upcoming SZNZ: Winter EP.
The track finds Rivers Cuomo yearning for a furry friend who will “lead me to the backyard and fetch the ball as if he was my lifeguard,” among other things you might expect from man’s best friend.
“Studies show 10 out of 10 dogs enjoy listening to ‘I Want a Dog,'” Weezer proclaims, while inviting you to share video of you and your pup rocking out to the tune.

SZNZ: Winter is the fourth and final installment of Weezer’s yearlong SZNZ project, which also included the Spring, Summer and Autumn EPs. Just as each of the previous three sets arrived on the first day of their respective seasons, Winter will arrive on the first day of winter, December 21.
Weezer has also celebrated the release of each SZNZ EP with a performance on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!
