Shinedown‘s got something cooking, and we’ll find out what in just a week’s time.

On Monday, the “Second Chance” rockers shared an Instagram video of frontman Brent Smith sitting down in a chair, pointing at the camera and declaring, “Eight days.” The post is similarly captioned, “8 Days…”, along with a smiling devil emoji.

As for what will be coming from Shinedown once the countdown concludes next Tuesday, January 17, the post’s hashtags may offer some clues. In addition to #WhatCouldItbe, #2023andBeyond and #PlanetZero — the title of Shinedown’s new album — the post is tagged with #DDD, which could refer to the Planet Zero song “Dead Don’t Die.”

Smith recently spoke about “Dead Don’t Die” in a Shinedown TikTok, sharing that guitarist Zach Myers wrote the lyrics to the song.

“If you were to ask him, he wrote it about me,” Smith said.

Planet Zero, the seventh Shinedown album, was released last July. Its title track and the single “Daylight” both hit #1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart.
