Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman Karen O lends her signature vocals to a new song from producer TRZTN.
The track, titled “Hieroglyphs,” is available now via digital outlets. You can watch its accompanying video streaming now via TheFader.com.
“I sent [O] a sketch which she then recorded quirky, celestial lyrics setting the tone for what’s to come,” TRZTN tells The Fader. “Her siren-like wails and whimsical fairy-tale like approach added the emotional dimension.”
“Hieroglyphs” will appear on the upcoming TRZTN album Royal Dagger Ballet, due out January 22. The record also includes a collaboration with Interpol‘s Paul Banks.
O and TRZTN previously worked together on the soundtrack to the 2009 film Where the Wild Things Are. They also collaborated on a remix of O’s solo song, “Rapt.”
