Yungblud is number one in his home country.

The British rocker’s sophomore effort Weird! has debuted at the top spot on the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart, giving him the first number-one album of his career.

“We went Number 1! What the hell?” Yungblud says in a statement to OfficialCharts.com. “I just can’t really speak right now, it’s mental. I just want to say a massive thank you to each and every one of you who got the album…as always, this is ours.”

To show his appreciation, Yungblud plans to melt down his Official Charts number-one album trophy into 150 safety pins and send them to his fans.

“To have a Number 1 rock album at Christmas is mental,” Yungblud says. “Up the rock ‘n roll scene, up the punks, I just want to say thank you so much.”

“Yungblud is not me, it is us, this is our award,” he adds. “We are weird! Stay weird, be proud to be weird, be proud to be different, I love each and every one of you.”
